Job Description
- Measure customers using an inch-tape and record the measurements
- Cut paper patterns based on the measurements
- Place the patterns on cloth and mark around them with a pencil
- Cut various parts of the garment along the marked lines
- Supervise the stitching and making of the garment
- Check the fit of the garment on the customer
- Mark alterations with chalk
- Supervise the finishing work and fitting the garment on the customer
- Stitch the product
- Shirts, pants, nicker, skirt, pinafore, chudidar, Waist coats, gripper pants etc., Standard sizes and custom sizes as well.
- Manage full production and hire his team
Other responsibilities
- Discuss with customers their desired specifications for clothes
- Recommend fabrics, colors, and styles to customers
- Show customers samples of different fabrics
- Ensure alterations are done on time
- Be knowledgeable about fabrics, patterns, shapes, and colors
- Use specialized equipment such as industrial sewing machines and irons
