Job Description
A Mechanical Design Engineer develops, analyzes, and tests mechanical systems and components from concept to production, using CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX) to create, simulate, and refine designs. They ensure products are functional, cost-effective, and safe by conducting testing, troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Design new mechanical systems, components, or products (e.g., robots, machines, tools) based on specifications.
- CAD Modeling: Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software like SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or NX.
- Analysis and Simulation: Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to validate design performance, reliability, and safety.
- Prototyping and Testing: Develop, build, and test prototypes to determine improvements and ensure design functionality.
- Documentation and Compliance: Create BOMs (Bill of Materials), technical documentation, and ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and client teams to optimize designs for production (DFM/DFA).
