Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities

Medication Dispensing & Verification

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately as per physician orders.
• Perform thorough verification of drug name, dosage, strength, route, and patient identity before dispensing.
• Review prescriptions for completeness, legibility, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
• Counsel patients on proper medication usage, dosage schedules, side effects, and storage instructions.

Pharmacy Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of all medications, consumables, and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Conduct regular stock audits, expiry checks, and reconciliation of pharmacy inventory.
• Coordinate with central procurement teams for timely replenishment of medicines.
• Ensure proper storage of medications including controlled substances, refrigerated drugs, as per regulatory norms.

Vaccine & Cold Chain Management

• Store, handle, and dispense vaccines in strict compliance with cold chain protocols.
• Coordinate with nursing staff for timely preparation and loading of vaccines for administration.
• Maintain temperature logs and flag any deviations immediately.
• Update immunization stock records and report usage to relevant departments.

Billing & Documentation

• Generate and verify billing entries for dispensed medications, consumables, and pharmacy services.
• Maintain accurate dispensing records, prescription logs, as per requirements.
• Assist patients with billing queries related to medications and pharmacy charges professionally.

Clinical Collaboration

• Report and document adverse drug reactions (ADRs) as per facility pharmacovigilance protocols.
• Support infection control initiatives through proper dispensing of antibiotics and regulated medications.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)
• Valid Pharmacist registration with the State Pharmacy Council / Pharmacy Council of India
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting (freshers with strong internship background may apply)
• Proficiency in pharmacy management software and HMS/EMR systems
• Sound knowledge of drug interactions, pharmacology, and dispensing regulations

Work Conditions

• Rotational shifts including weekends and holidays as required
• Adherence to pharmacy hygiene, safety, and infection control standards is mandatory
• Regulated handling of Schedule H, H1, and X drugs as per applicable laws
