Production Supervisor - Machining Division

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine & Tooling Supervision

• Optimize Production Flow: Execute daily or weekly production plans on CNC mills, lathes, and VMC machines to meet shipping schedules.
• Setup & Changeovers: Assist operators with tool setting, offset adjustments, and machine program modifications.
• Downtime Reduction: Track machine utilization, minimize idle time, and coordinate with the maintenance team for rapid equipment repairs. [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Quality Control

• Defect Prevention: Ensure all machined components meet engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
• Scrap Reduction: Conduct root-cause analysis for rejections, rework, and material wastage.
• Inspections: Coordinate with the QA/QC department to perform first-article and final inspections. [1, 2, 3, 4]

3. Manpower & Team Management

• Task Allocation: Assign skilled machinists and operators to machines based on production priorities and skill sets.
• Training & Development: Train new workers on machine operations, inspection methods, and safety procedures.
• Shift Management: Monitor attendance, shift handovers, and overtime. [1, 2, 3]

4. Safety & Housekeeping

• PPE Enforcement: Ensure all floor workers strictly adhere to required safety gear (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toed boots).
• 5S Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop floor environment by implementing 5S and preventive safety measures. [1, 2]

5. Reporting & Material Management

• Metric Tracking: Update and maintain daily production reports, monitoring planned versus actual output.
• Inventory Control: Verify the availability of raw materials, jigs, fixtures, and cutting tools prior to production runs. [1]

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Typically requires a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI in a relevant trade.
• Experience: Often 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in a CNC machining environment (including VMC/HMC setup and operation
