This role is best suited to someone who has sold physical product to retailers or distributors on the road, in the market, face-to-face.
If your sales experience is in SaaS, real estate, insurance, or services, this role is likely not the right fit.
The person who will succeed here has done this before not necessarily in cricket, but in consumer goods or consumer durables. They know what it means to plan a route, work a market town by town, follow up on payments, and build a retailer base through sheer consistency and persistence.

About the Company
A UK-based premium cricket protection brand trusted by professional and amateur cricketers across the UK, Australia, and India. The company has a growing India joint venture. The JV is profitable and growing and next major expansion market is South India. The business has strong brand equity, good product, and real commercial momentum — and is scaling up India, currently with limited systems, limited support infrastructure, and a territory that needs to be built largely from scratch.
Key Details
- Location: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad or surrounding South India regions
- Reporting To: Joint Venture Directors based in India and the UK
- Travel: 50–70% across South India — cities, towns, and emerging cricket markets
- Employment Type: Full-time | Immediate to 30-day joiner preferred
What You Will Do
1. New Account Acquisition — Your Primary Job
- Identify and open new retail and distributor accounts across South India
- Build and work a structured pipeline — target accounts, visit cadence, follow-up discipline
- Convert prospects into active, consistently ordering accounts
- This is the core of the role. Most of your time belongs here.
2. Account Development
- Build consistent monthly ordering rhythms once accounts are opened
- Grow order frequency and basket size over time
- Improve Masuri's in-store visibility and shelf positioning
3. Territory Planning
- Plan efficient travel routes across key cities and emerging markets
- Maintain a disciplined visit schedule — no account goes dark
- Identify and prioritise the highest-potential pockets of the market
4. Field Operations
- Take and process orders directly in the field
- Coordinate with the JV operations team on fulfilment and logistics
- Support collections and payment follow-up as needed
5. Market Feedback
- Report on competitor activity, pricing, and regional demand patterns
- Feed ground-level insight back to the JV team to sharpen commercial strategy
What Success Looks Like
By the end of your first year:
- 30–50 active retail and distributor accounts opened and trading
- Consistent monthly revenue with a clear growth trajectory
- A territory with structure — pipeline, visit cadence, account records
- Masuri visible and recognised in key South India cricket retail markets
Who We Are Looking For
Background — This Matters
We are specifically looking for candidates with experience selling physical product through retail and distribution channels. Ideal backgrounds include:
- Consumer durables (appliances, electronics, hardware, sporting goods)
- FMCG / packaged goods with retail and distributor channel experience
- Sports equipment, apparel, or footwear with field sales exposure
- Any B2B physical product category where you have worked retailers and distributors on the ground
We are not the right role for candidates from SaaS, IT sales, real estate, insurance, financial services, or other non-physical-product categories — even high performers. The nature of the grind is genuinely different.
Essential Requirements
- 3–6 years of field sales experience in consumer durables, FMCG, or physical product distribution
- Demonstrable track record of opening new accounts — not just servicing existing ones
- Comfortable with 50–70% travel across South India — cities and smaller markets
- Fluent English plus at least one South Indian language (Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam)
- Self-directed — you plan your own week, manage your own pipeline, and drive your own results
Preferred
- Experience in sports, cricket, or sports equipment retail
- Existing network of retailers or distributors in South India
- Exposure to early-stage or smaller business environments

Salary & Incentives
- Base Salary: 9,00,000 – 12,00,000 per annum based on experience
- Incentives: Performance-linked incentives tied to new accounts opened and revenue generated in time.
- Travel: Field travel expenses covered
