About the Role
We are looking for a confident, customer-focused Restaurant Captain who can be the face of our dining experience.
This role is not just about taking orders. It is about making every guest feel welcomed, understood, guided, and looked after from the moment they walk in until they leave.
The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for taking orders across multiple menus, helping customers choose the right items, using digital ordering devices, coordinating with the kitchen team, following up after food is served, and ensuring that every guest has a positive experience.
We are looking for someone who can talk well, listen better, handle customers with warmth, and represent the brand with energy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Greeting and Table Experience
- Welcome customers warmly and make them feel comfortable.
- Guide customers through the available menus and help them make the right choice.
- Understand customer preferences, group size, taste preferences, and budget where required.
- Ensure customers are attended to promptly and politely.
- Order Taking and Menu KnowledgeTake accurate orders across three different menus.
- Use an iPad, tablet, or digital ordering device to place orders through the restaurant app or POS system.
- Clearly repeat and confirm orders before submitting them.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure correct and timely preparation.
- Stay fully updated on menu items, ingredients, offers, combos, bestsellers, and unavailable items.
- Upselling and Cross-SellingSuggest add-ons, combos, beverages, desserts, sides, or upgraded options based on customer preferences.
- Recommend popular items and signature dishes confidently.
- Promote offers and value meals without sounding pushy.
- Help increase average order value while maintaining customer trust.
- Customer Follow-Up and Satisfaction
- Follow up with customers after the food is served.
- Check whether the order is correct, food quality is good, and customers are satisfied.
- Handle small concerns quickly and politely.
- Escalate complaints or serious feedback to the manager when needed.
- Collect customer feedback in a natural and meaningful way.
- Brand Experience - Bring out the best of the brand through friendly conversations and positive energy.
- Create a lively, welcoming, and comfortable environment for customers.
- Build rapport with repeat customers and remember their preferences where possible.
- Represent the brand as youthful, warm, reliable, and service-oriented.
- Coordination and Team Support - Communicate clearly with kitchen, counter, billing, and service teams.
- Ensure table orders are served properly and without confusion.
- Support smooth operations during peak hours.
- Help maintain cleanliness and basic presentation standards in the customer area.
- Ensure customers are not left unattended after ordering.
Required Skills and Qualities
- Good communication and conversational skills.
- Ability to speak politely and confidently with customers.
- Basic comfort with using an iPad, tablet, mobile app, or POS system.
- Strong order-taking accuracy.
- Good memory and understanding of menu items.
- Ability to upsell and cross-sell naturally.
- Customer-first attitude.
- Presentable, energetic, and positive personality.
- Ability to stay calm during busy hours.
- Team player with good coordination skills.
- Willingness to learn and improve.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Captain, Steward, Waiter, Service Associate, or Customer Service Executive is preferred.
- Experience in QSR, casual dining, café, cloud kitchen, or food service environment will be an advantage.
- Freshers with strong communication skills and a good attitude may also be considered.
