Job Description
Responsibilities:
Procurement:
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality goods at the best possible cost.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the organization's inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize excess or insufficient stock situations.
- Regularly monitor and analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and address issues promptly to maintain a high standard of service.
- Continuously seek new suppliers and products to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of goods.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing procurement and stores activities.
- Generate reports on procurement and inventory performance for management review.
Cost Control:
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Analyze pricing and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience of minimum 3 years in procurement, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to procurement.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
