Job Description
A Telesales Representative sells products or services directly to customers over the phone. You are responsible for closing deals, understanding customer needs, upselling, and hitting assigned sales quotas. This fast-paced, target-driven role requires excellent communication and strong persuasion skills. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Conversion: Make outbound cold calls or handle incoming queries to pitch and sell company products/services. [1, 2]
- Needs Assessment: Ask targeted questions to understand client requirements and effectively demonstrate how the product can solve their problems. [1, 2]
- Upselling & Cross-selling: Identify opportunities to upsell additional features, upgrades, or complementary products to existing customers. [1, 2]
- Database Management: Accurately update and maintain customer records, orders, and interactions in the CRM. [1, 2]
- Objection Handling: Address customer doubts, questions, or complaints professionally to preserve brand reputation and close the sale. [1, 2]
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record in telesales, outbound sales, or a customer-facing role.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal communication, active listening, and a polite but persistent telephone manner.
- Negotiation & Persuasion: Ability to confidently negotiate deals and not give up after the first rejection.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with using CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho) and basic computer/typing skills.
- Education: High school diploma or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (varies by employer). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
