Job Description
To develop strong VMC and CNC skills, you need to understand the basics of CNC machines, including the X, Y, and Z axes and how the machine operates. Learning G-code and M-code programming is essential for controlling machining operations. You should also know how to set tools, adjust work offsets, clamp workpieces properly, and perform safe machine startup and shutdown procedures. Understanding different cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and depth of cut is important for quality production. In addition, being able to read engineering drawings and tolerances is necessary. Advanced skills include learning CAD/CAM software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Mastercam. Practical experience and following safety rules are key to becoming skilled in VMC and CNC machining.
