Job Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations related to agricultural equipment, parts, and supplies. This role ensures efficient storage, retrieval, and distribution of inventory, while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The supervisor will manage a team of warehouse staff, optimize inventory control, and collaborate with other departments to support the company's operational goals within the agricultural equipment sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively address discrepancies or shortages, especially for seasonal agricultural parts.
  • Implement and enforce proper storage procedures to prevent damage and deterioration of equipment and parts.
  • Manage the receiving, inspection, and storage of incoming shipments.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval of agricultural equipment and parts.
  • Forecast and plan for seasonal inventory fluctuations related to planting, harvesting, and other agricultural cycles.

 

  • Warehouse Operations:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders and internal requests.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, with a focus on agriculture specific machinery.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Coordinate with transportation and logistics providers for efficient delivery of goods.
  • Manage the storage and handling of hazardous materials, such as agricultural chemicals and fuels, in compliance with regulations.


  • Logistics and Coordination:
  • Coordinate with the purchasing and sales departments to ensure timely availability of inventory.
  • Work with service technicians to provide necessary parts and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage the return of defective or unwanted equipment and parts.
  • Optimize shipping routes and methods to minimize costs and delivery times.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specific agricultural equipment repairs and warranty work.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including those specific to agricultural chemicals and equipment.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of all warehouse transactions.
  • Participate in audits and inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Any degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in warehouse supervision, preferably in the agricultural equipment industry. 
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
  • Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural equipment, parts, and related supplies.
  • Ability to lift heavy items, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certifications in forklift operation and hazardous material handling (preferred).

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with agricultural equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of precision agriculture technology and equipment.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Bilingual abilities.
