AI Solutions Engineer (Translations & Language Solutions)

Role Summary
IQVIA Language Solutions is seeking a hands-on AI Engineer with expertise in Large Language Models and Agentic AI systems to design and build the next-generation language technology solutions. 

The successful candidate will bring strong engineering skills with AI/LLM experience, working closely with technology and product teams to deliver AI solutions in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities
•    Design, implement, and deploy LLM-powered solutions for translation, linguistic QA and workflow orchestration.
•    Develop frameworks to enhance LLM output through contextual targeting (e.g. through retrieval-augmented generation or agentic pipelines using linguistic assets (translation memories, term bases, style guides etc.).
•    Integrate LLM solutions into existing translation management systems, CAT tools and enterprise systems via APIs and services.
•    Innovate: Experiment, Prototype and Build targeted AI solutions or modules. Stay current with advances in LLMs and agentic frameworks.
•    Implement prompt engineering, prompt versioning and evaluation. Validate prompt outputs through both qualitative and quantitative evaluation procedures.
•    Develop and maintain datasets for LLM quality validation, perform quality checks and create tools for data analysis or data creation (synthetic or sourced data)
•    Create technical design and deployment documents for the solutions

Skills
Core Technology Skills
•    Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern ML/AI frameworks.
•    Development skills in databases (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Vector databases)
•    Hands-on experience with one or more LLMs (e.g. Azure Open AI GPT, Claude, Gemini).
•    Ability to build and deploy agentic systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent.
•    Strong understanding of prompt engineering principles and experience with prompting LLMs.
•    Expertise in RAG architectures (e.g. Azure AI Search)
•    Experience in API design, microservices, and cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS).
Domain and Soft Skills
•    Knowledge of AI safety and bias detection 
•    Problem-solving skills, balancing tech innovation with operational reliability and practicality
•    Collaboration skills across teams (engineering, product, operations)
•    Outcome-driven with a focus on creating solutions that deliver operational results
•    Comfortable working in a fast-evolving AI landscape with ambiguity and experimentation

Qualification and Experience
•    Formal qualification in a technology discipline or equivalent experience
•    7+ years of design and development experience, ideally including ML or applied AI
•    Hands-on experience creating solutions with LLMs and/or Agents
•    Experience in hands-on use of AI-embedded development tools (e.g. Cursor)
•    Experience working at a translations technologies organisation is an advantage
