Job description

Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Manager to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of critical business applications for Hitachi, Ltd. This role requires a strong understanding of application lifecycle management, project leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that support our strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Lead and manage the entire application lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translate them into technical requirements, and propose effective application solutions.
* Oversee a team of developers, business analysts, and quality assurance specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
* Develop and implement application development best practices, standards, and methodologies.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with application development and deployment.
* Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of all managed applications.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance application capabilities and efficiency.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for all applications, including technical specifications, user manuals, and support procedures.
* Act as a primary point of contact for application-related issues, providing expert support and problem resolution.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the application development team.

Job Qualifications:**

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in application development and management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
* Proven experience with full application lifecycle management (ALM) methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
* Strong technical background in various programming languages, databases, and operating systems relevant to enterprise applications.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage technical teams.
* Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their application in enterprise solutions.
* Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
