MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The role of Assistant IT Manager is to partner with various Finance Leadership teams in HUL and deliver Digital Capabilities to drive the next gen Finance function.

The Assistant IT Manager is required to understand the business processes, work on requirements with business representatives, create proposals and obtain program/budget approvals. Furthermore, the Assistant IT manager closely works with the Enterprise Architecture, SAP platform, Enterprise compute and Information Security teams to land the solutions on time in full. The scope of work involves technology finalization, technical design and engagement within and outside Unilever.

The Assistant IT Manager will need to develop a strong understanding of the processes in the Finance functions assigned to him/her for partnering and develop a good understanding of the processes in the current technology landscape (SAP, Cygnet, etc).

JOB SUMMARY

The role of this Assistant IT Manager is to:

Change Catalyst

  • Partner with Audit team, Taxation team, advising them on the investments in digital and help future fit finance functions.

  • Work with the Global Digital and Technology product teams to design and deliver digital solutions to support the finance functions.

  • Continuously scan, engage and adapt from external forums, everts and partners to reimagine the digital and technology landscape.

  • Create compelling case for future fit digital ecosystem for the function like use of agentic AI to unlock productivity and streamline operations.

Innovation & Value Delivery

  • Define the digitalization roadmap by engaging with the finance leadership team.

  • Deliver local and global innovations working with external and internal technology teams.

  • Drive adoption, scale and value realization for the investments made in digital.

  • Work closely with customer development, supply chain, cybersecurity teams on cross functional programs.

  • Govern resilient BAU operations of the supporting tools and tech for the functions.

  • Own and manage the IT innovation and run budgets for the team.

Service Improvement 

  • Assist with communication and coordination on Urgent Incidents within India. Coordinate between finance business teams and tech platforms in mitigating and resolving such issues. Manage escalations and drive resolution on urgent incidents.

  • Support the business and tech teams in efficient execution of Disaster Recovery tests.

  • Drive accountability with vendor partners in ensuring the best-in-class support to business stakeholders on all IT solutions.

  • Drive continuous improvements and run cost reduction through efficiency gains.

Collaboration

  • As part of CDIO India team, be available to mentor and coach teammates when needed.

  • Establish a culture of continuous upskilling, curiosity, openness and psychological safety within the team.

  • Establish a community of practice with counterparts in other CDIO teams, global process excellence counterparts to cross pollinate best practices and learnings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Proven business partnering experience. Ability to advise & influence stakeholders on the digital transformation

  • Experience in working with senior stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of technology (SAP FICO, Azure, SQL, Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, PowerApps and other productivity tools).

  • Broad understanding of new technologies in area of finance and their impact.

  • Experience in delivering large IT programs and driving adoption and value realization.

  • Cross functional collaboration skills and a good understanding of IT operations.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of finance function and its processes

  • Experience in SAP program delivery and innovation

  • Understanding of taxation processes and supporting tooling landscape
