Assistant Manager
KPMG Test Environments and Tooling Lead (Grade: D)
We are looking to recruit a Test Environments and Tooling Lead to join the KPMG Test Management Office, working on a large portfolio of exciting projects, as part of KPMG’s internal Testing Capability. Reporting to the KPMG Head of Test Management Office, you will support project delivery by providing governance and test assurance services, ensuring that projects adhere to quality standards. This role will cover internal projects but will work with our external client-facing QA capability to ensure alignment to industry best practice and standards, and the adoption of new and emerging skills, tools, and methods.
The Role
Strong understanding of environment orchestration and configuration management is required, including the ongoing maintenance of the environment inventory
Create and manage the test environment booking policy, and promote its communication within KPMG Group Digital, with support from the Head of Test Management Office.
Maintain the test environment booking schedule, and ensure consistent communication to stakeholders
Management of vendor release schedule to ensure configuration of tooling is not broken for new releases.
Demonstrates solid problem-solving abilities, including the ability to analyse technical challenges, and recommend pragmatic solutions for tooling.
Ability to manage and negotiate environment utilisation between senior stakeholders, including the ability to escalate in a timely manner to the Head of Test Management Office
Ongoing management of user access as part of a joiners, and leavers process.
Identifying and highlighting risks and opportunities for improvements
Collaborating with the Advisory Technology and Data practice to share good practice, tools, technologies and innovation
Working collaboratively with other technology teams and stakeholders to support and deliver testing services
Driving a culture of continual process improvement, to enhance quality and expand service offerings
Act as an escalator of risks and issues to ensure timely and clear communication, mitigation and resolution.
Ensure policies, governance and standards from the Test Management Office (TMO) are adhered to and championed.
Contribute to the strategic roadmap for KPMG’s internal testing capability.
The Person
Familiarity with environment management tools is desirable.
Other tooling experience and set-up across platforms such as Jira, ServiceNow and test management tools including Zephyr, Azure DevOps, or ALM is desirable.
You will help build a ‘learn it all’ rather than a ‘know it all’ culture, and foster an environment in which everyone’s opinion is valued
Ensures environment bookings and access management to tooling across the Test Management Office adheres to the policy, process and procedures, with a consistent approach to reporting and escalations.
Reviews identified issues, gains agreement on planned actions and provides strategic remediation paths for resolution, to support successful project delivery
Provides relevant metrics and dashboard reporting across the Testing Capability to senior stakeholders and represents the overall testing position in various senior forums
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence and build relationships
Solid problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex data, identify core issues, and investigate, evaluate, and reach appropriate conclusions
Broad experience of different types of technology change and testing projects, including software / applications, infrastructure, middleware, devices / end user computing, and digital / desktop services
Good understanding of test management tools, such as ALM, JIRA, Zephyr, and Azure DevOps
Broad range of tech experience, covering platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, ServiceNow, and Microsoft D365
You ensure effective meeting management to facilitate delivery progress and stakeholder engagement
