GST Compliance Associate

The position in discussion is with the India GST practice at KPMG Global Services (KGS). The person would be working closely with KPMG India and would be serving global clients on India GST Compliance. This role is an integral part of the firm’s strategy to enhance innovation, build scalability, and improve profitability, globally. 

— Preparing of India GST Returns and proper claim of input tax credit VAT and supporting GST refunds VAT Audit, supporting to GST Audits. 

— Reconciliations of Indirect Tax accounts of various India entities which requires clear understanding of account profiles and knowledge in Indirect tax laws and accounting. 

— Preparation and monthly filing of India GST returns. 

— Apply knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, theories, and techniques in conducting activities supporting the development, monitoring and maintenance of indirect tax ledger accounts. 

— Understanding of India GST payment process & strong in GST compliances.

— Should be proficient in excel, good to have knowledge of SAP and good in data management. 

— Should be well versed with India GST provision and accounting standard

— Bachelor's degree in accounting / finance or proven equivalent professional experience with a minimum of 4 years of professional accounting/finance/Tax experience 

— CA/ICMA qualified/Inter or MBA with minimum 2 years of professional experience in handling TAX (GST / TDS) compliances and Return filing

— Ability to work independently on multiple projects with minimum supervision. 

— Advanced understanding of broad accounting/finance fundamentals 

— Strong organizational analytical communication and problem-solving skills 

— Refined communication skills e.g. verbal written interpersonal and presentation 

— Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position. 

— Prior experience in India Indirect Taxation
