At KPMG, we are harnessing the power of Generative AI (GenAI) to reimagine and transform various aspects of our business operations and client services. As part of the AI & Digital Innovation organization, the AI & Data Labs team is expanding to meet growing business demand.

The Associate Director, GenAI Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering enterprise-grade GenAI solutions, with a strong focus on scalability, compliance, and business value. Based in India, this role will support global initiatives and work closely with senior leaders across India and US.

Major accountabilities:

• Solution Architecture & Delivery
  • Defining and delivering scalable AI solutions across discovery, development, regulatory, and commercial functions.
  • Create and maintain reference architectures, reusable components, and best practices for GenAI adoption.
• Business Partnership
  • Engage with business stakeholders to identify high-value use cases and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for GenAI solutioning across India and US teams.
• Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure alignment with responsible AI practices and compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, GxP, and EU AI Act.
  • Embed security, transparency, and fairness principles into all architectures.
• Innovation & Ecosystem Engagement
  • Evaluate and integrate new LLM models, frameworks, and orchestration tools (OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy).
  • Partner with startups, academia, and vendors to bring cutting-edge GenAI innovation to KPMG.
• Leadership & Mentorship
  • Provide technical guidance to solution teams and build GenAI capability within the India hub.
  • Collaborate with peers across KPMG to ensure global consistency and scalability.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or equivalent. 12+ years in enterprise IT/solution architecture, including 4+ years in AI/ML and 2+ years in GenAI.
• Hands-on knowledge of LLMs, vector databases, RAG, and multi-agent systems.
• Proven ability to design solutions across multi-cloud environments (Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock).
• Strong familiarity with regulatory frameworks and AI governance.

 

Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture:

• Design and implement end-to-end architecture for complex web applications, ensuring integration across frontend, backend, and cloud services.
• Oversee architectural decisions and provide technical leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance business processes and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
• Ensure that technical solutions meet compliance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Develop architecture documentation, including system diagrams and technical design specifications.

Frontend & Backend Development:

• Lead the design of dynamic, responsive user interfaces using ReactJS and other modern technologies.
• Guide the development of robust backend systems using Python frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
• Ensure efficient data flow and integration between frontend and backend components.
• Optimize application performance and ensure best practices across development teams.

 

Cloud Technology:

• Architect and implement cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability and resilience.
• Leverage cloud services such as Azure Functions, Azure App Service, and Azure Storage to optimize application performance.
• Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for streamlined integration and deployment processes.
• Ensure application security and compliance using Azure Security Center and related tools.

Leadership & Strategy:

• Lead cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Mentor and develop team members, focusing on skill development and professional growth.
• Drive strategic initiatives and projects, aligning them with organizational goals and technology strategies.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing insights and updates on project progress.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in project execution and architectural design.
