Role description:

Takes on a leadership role that extends beyond the project environment, supporting professional management-level leadership and fostering strong client relationships. Manage project teams, oversee technical delivery, and contribute to the growth of Arcadis’ capabilities while enhancing both personal and organisational professional reputation.

Leadership: Provide clear directions to project teams, leading by example and driving excellence in delivery and collaboration.
Project Oversight: Serve as a technical lead on large-scale, complex projects within a single discipline or medium-sized, multi-disciplinary projects of moderate complexity.
Delivery Management: Ensure projects are delivered in line with information management standards, meeting objectives for time, quality, budget, and health and safety.
CDE Ownership: Take ownership of the Common Data Environment (CDE) package, delegating administrative tasks, collaborating with CDE SMEs to enhance efficiencies, and driving improvements or innovations.
BA Relationships: Manage all aspects of BA engagement, ensuring digital delivery meets expectations, promoting client satisfaction, and championing client care through proactive collaboration.
Cultural Advocacy: Actively promote and embody the regional and global culture of Arcadis, contributing to mobility initiatives and workstreams that align with organisational goals.
Change, Business and Risk Management: Contribute to organisational change initiatives by supporting business readiness, leading IM-related change activities, and applying structured risk-management principles to digital delivery decisions.
People Management: Lead and manage the teams’ day-to-day activities, work diet, training, career progression and support on the team’s project delivery.
Fee/Time Estimate – Provide bid support for the projects looking at the RFP documents.
Quality Deliverables – Ensure team follows and adheres to the PCRA process and guidelines.
This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by delivering technical excellence, building relationships, driving efficiencies, and supporting the growth and reputation of Arcadis on both regional and global levels.

Project Regional Leads - liaise to define and negotiate support for the programme implementation, focusing on embedding changes into business as usual.
GEC Team Leaders - coordinating wider teams for multi-D projects.
Information Managers, Project Managers, and external partners, as well as the client’s information managers, to engage and collect information and provide reports and analysis to support delivery
All SME’s across the business. 
Client Senior Stakeholders – agree on project objectives, communicate project status, and facilitate resolution of project issues and risks.
Business Unit Directors - assisting with developing digital delivery arrangements in line with Information Management requirements. 
Project Directors – liaise to review project Information Management requirements.
Delivery Suppliers - negotiate technical aspects of contracts and performance management to ensure effective delivery of the programme.

Management and Commercial

  • Provide technical digital leadership at a Business Unit level.
  • Manage digital delivery teams (20+ people) across multiple projects and BUs.
  • Manage the performance of team members and subcontractors, resolving any issues.
  • Provide input to estimates for the modelling budget and schedule, and to oversee technical resources to meet requirements on large-sized projects.
  • Lead and review Bid proposals for the IM scope on projects.
  • Provide input into digital aspects of bids to support winning submissions.
  • Manage technical client relationships and play a major role in pursuits.
  • Maintain industry engagement via conferences, publications, and technical committees.
  • When appointed in the role of Information Manager, drive project performance, service delivery, technical outcomes, and commercial results, ensuring client delivery exceeds expectations.
  • Select, lead, and develop the Information management team to ensure they have the necessary skills to deliver the project, understand and engage with the project strategy, brief, and information management requirements, and manage their delivery of project objectives.
  • Identify any bottlenecks in the strategic policy of the organisation in the field of digital and advise on any adjustments.
  • Demonstrate clear commercial, technical, and managerial value by improving efficiency, reducing information risk, supporting high-quality digital delivery, and strengthening client confidence in Arcadis’ IM capability.


Information Management and Records support

  • Lead projects in the Information Manager role - driving performance and delivery.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Information Management standards.
  • Coordinate with CDE SMEs to improve efficiency and manage CDE packages.
  • Compile and resolve technical software faults with relevant SMEs.
  • Develop and propose client-focused digital solutions, including non-standard approaches.
  • Review and propose development opportunities in the MDM tool and asset data workflows.
  • Oversee coordination of IM protocols and BIM Execution Plans for projects.


Information Distribution and Communication

  • Guide and assist project teams across the business through digital processes.
  • Build strong relationships with teams, clients, and technical disciplines.
  • Develop partnering relationships with senior client personnel.
  • Guide clients through the technical decision-making process and provide alternative solutions if there are changes to project parameters.
  • Engage with the client and all key stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of project objectives and to establish protocols for working together.

Standards and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with business and international standards.
  • Apply a sound, evidence-based approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Champion the use of the Arcadis Business Management System.
  • Develop and propose potential solutions, including solutions that fall outside the standard codes where appropriate, to meet or exceed client expectations.

Digital Systems and Tools

  • Plan digital processes for effective project implementation.
  • Champion advanced desktop applications, guiding and training others.
  • Maintain and extend a theoretical approach for adopting new technologies.
  • Engage in creative and innovative development of digital processes and systems.
  • Able to identify and suggest to an Asset Information SME areas of development within the MDM tool and asset data interrogation.

Project Information Coordination

  • Lead digital delivery of projects—ensuring client satisfaction, project management, and collaboration.
  • Develop solutions with Asset Information SMEs and define digital requirements.
  • Typically assigned to provide a controlling technical role on large-scale,  complex projects in a single discipline or medium-sized, moderately complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Encourage SHE feedback and take a lead in solving SHE issues.
  • Provide technical advice to team members to support them in their delivery of the project and in their professional development.
  • Provide specialised technical input to major/complex studies for staff's specific area of expertise.

Professional Engagement and Conduct:

  • Maintain a strong professional profile nationally through CPD and technical community involvement.
  • Promote and lead SHE initiatives; respond to feedback.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement in statutory, contractual, and commercial matters.
  • Encourage professional standards aligned with obligations to society and environment.
  • Build strong working relationships with other teams and technical disciplines, Arcadis offices, and external organisations to foster cooperation and identify cross-sell and trade-up opportunities.
  • Guide a project team through the digital process and provide assistance as and when required to the wider practice.
  • Have achieved professional development or ISO 19650 professional accreditation.
  • Carry out CPD and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop strong, partnering relationships with senior client personnel in order to identify and resolve issues, identify business opportunities, and influence their decision-making.

Learning and Development

  • Deliver tailored training to address knowledge gaps in the team.
  • Develop staff to meet evolving technical and managerial needs.
  • Maintain CPD records and encourage a learning culture.
  • Achieve and maintain ISO 19650 professional accreditation.
  • Recognise and operate within limitations of own and team’s knowledge.
  • Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments, and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile at a International level (e.g., conference presentations, publications, and participation in technical committees).

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Have a BE/Btech or Diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline, or have a strong portfolio of relevant experience
  • Have achieved professional Information Manager status or equivalent. (Operam/ BRE)
  • Have relevant experience (12 to 15 years), including leadership in developing and implementing information management solutions and managing a team of 10+ members.
  • 10+ Years work experience with Engineering consultants globally.
  • Experience in preparing Fee and Time estimate for the projects.


Essential Skills:

  • In an information management role, have a sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures.
  • Have a sound knowledge of sustainable development best practices.
  • Manage information management activities that contribute to sustainable development.
  • Able to provide input to estimates for the information management budget and schedule, and oversee technical resources to meet requirements on large, complex projects.
  • Demonstrate appropriate professional standards, recognising obligations to society, the profession, and the environment.
  • Have strong consulting skills, including project and client relationship management at the senior management level.
  • Able to communicate new concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical colleagues, including effective use of English orally and in writing.
  • Use sound knowledge of statutory and commercial frameworks within own area of responsibility and have an appreciation of other commercial arrangements.
  • Manage teams (min 15+members) and develop staff to meet changing technical and managerial needs.
  • Accept responsibility for the work and for those whom you manage.
  • Able to identify, review, and select techniques, procedures, and methods to undertake information management tasks.
  • Understand and comply with the Code of Conduct operated by a professional institution.
  • Experienced in leading and managing the team, and working with, people from varied disciplines, backgrounds and cultures and able to resolve potential issues.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with aligned Arcadis Global resources. 
  • Demonstrate sound judgement on statutory, contractual and commercial issues in relation to own area of responsibility.
  • Champion the advanced use of the relevant desktop applications providing guidance and training to Digital Engineers for efficiencies and methods of working.
  • Conduct appropriate research, relative to digital software and processes and appreciate its relevance within your own area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and monitor hazard identification and risk assessment during design development.

Desirable Skills:

  • Lead teams and develop staff to meet changing technical and managerial needs.
  • Can engage in the creative and innovative development of digital processes and continuous improvement systems.
  • Have experience in managing business relationships at the senior management level.
  • Have a sound knowledge of international codal requirements, hazards and safe systems of work.
  • Can identify the limits of both their personal knowledge and skills and the limits of their team's skill and knowledge and implement tailored training where necessary. 
  • Can provide ownership in a digital environment for project Design Decision Logs and Project Assumptions registers to record and agree on key project decisions. Communicating key risk items to the Project Manager.
  • Have the ability to use a sound, evidence-based approach to problem-solving and be able to contribute to continuous improvement.
