Automation Test Lead - Assistant Manager

Responsible for designing, developing, and executing test solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. This role works closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to define test strategies, identify and track defects through closure, and continuously improve testing processes across the SDLC.

•Test Strategy & PlanningoContribute to the preparation of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and automation approaches aligned with project goals and release timelines.oDefine test scope, coverage, entry/exit criteria•Test Design & ExecutionoDesign, develop, and execute test scripts to validate application functionality and ensure high-quality software releases.oPerform web-based application testing, API testing, and batch processing validation for solutions.oEnsure adequate regression, functional, and integration test coverage.•Defect ManagementoAnalyze test results, identify defects, and perform root cause analysis where applicable.oLog, track, prioritize, and manage defects to closure, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.oValidate fixes through re-testing and regression testing.•Automation Framework & CI/CDoEnhance, maintain, and optimize automation frameworks, scripts, and testing tools.oIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support automated test execution as part of build and release processes.•Agile CollaborationoParticipate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.oAlign testing activities with agile development timelines and delivery commitments.•Reporting & CommunicationoPrepare and publish test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality dashboards for stakeholders.oProvide clear, actionable insights on test status, risks, and overall quality trends.oDocument test cases, results, and testing artifacts in accordance with project standards.•Continuous ImprovementoContinuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies, automation effectiveness, and QA processes.oPromote best practices in test automation, quality engineering, and defect prevention.

Required Skills

•Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, QA best practices, and SDLC.•Hands-on experience in:oWeb-based application testingoAPI testingoBatch processing validation•Experience with test strategy creation, execution planning, and defect lifecycle management.•Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.•Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.•Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation abilities.•Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment. 

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

 

• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

• Experience with DevOps or ALM tools for test execution, reporting, and release coordination.

• Exposure to Automation Anywhere or other RPA platforms (training will be provided for suitable candidates).

• Knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as Python or Java.

• Experience with automation and testing tools such as TestNG, Playwright, or equivalent frameworks.
