OverviewThe Windows Enterprise & Security (ENS) team builds foundational capabilities that keep Windows client and server operating systems secure, reliable, and trusted at global scale. ENS spans core investments including hardwarebacked security, cryptography, identity and authentication, enterprise management, and platform resiliency, which are critical to making Windows a dependable choice for enterprises and governments worldwide.
As a Engineering Manager in ENS India, you will build, lead, and grow a highperforming engineering team responsible for shipping enterprise and securitycritical Windows capabilities. You will partner closely with peer leaders and engineering teams across geographies (including Redmond) to deliver securebydesign, reliablebydefault solutions, while scaling engineering excellence, talent, and execution velocity.
This role carries endtoend ownership across people, technology, and delivery, with an explicit mandate to leverage AIforward engineering practices to improve productivity, quality, and developer effectiveness.

Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Lead multiple engineers delivering Windows enterprise and security features that ship broadly across the Windows ecosystem.
- Own endtoend execution: roadmap planning, technical design, delivery, livesite readiness, and sustained quality.
- Balance feature delivery with security, reliability, and operational excellence, ensuring a consistently high engineering bar.
- Drive disciplined execution across multiple parallel workstreams, aligning priorities with ENS and Windows leadership.
People Management & Team Growth
- Hire, onboard, and develop engineers across levels, building a strong, inclusive, and growthoriented engineering culture.
- Coach engineers and managers on technical depth, ownership, collaboration, and career progression.
- Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and customer obsession, aligned with Microsoft values.
- Create clarity through goals, expectations, and feedback loops, especially in a fastgrowing IDC environment.
AIForward Engineering
- Champion AIassisted and agentic engineering workflows across the team
- Establish guardrails and best practices for responsible use of AI tools—ensuring correctness, security, privacy, and compliance.
- Encourage teams to use AI to:
- Accelerate rootcause analysis and debugging
- Improve test coverage and validation
- Reduce toil through automation and repeatable workflows
- Partner with other AIforward initiatives across Windows to scale learnings and patterns within ENS.
CrossOrg Collaboration & Influence
- Partner closely with ENS teams in Redmond and across Windows to deliver shared outcomes and aligned technical direction.
- Influence architecture, design decisions, and engineering standards across organizational boundaries.
- Represent the India team effectively in global forums, design reviews, and leadership discussions.
Quality, Security & Reliability
- Ensure all solutions meet Windows security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Drive strong practices around telemetry, diagnostics, livesite monitoring, and incident response.
- Lead postincident learning, systemic fixes, and longterm improvements to platform resilience.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience leading software engineering teams delivering largescale, production systems.
Solid technical background in systems, platform, or securityoriented engineering.
Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain highperforming engineering talent. Experience driving execution across complex, crossteam dependencies in a global environment.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years people management experience.
- Experience shipping operating system or platformlevel functionality and supporting customers at scale.
- Familiarity with Windows architecture, operating system fundamentals, or platform security concepts.
- Ability to create clarity, energy, and cohesion across organizations and teams.
