ETL Developer - IBM DataStage
Summary
As ETL Developer - IBM DataStage at Gainwell, will be responsible for managing and enhancing an advanced SQL-based healthcare data environment. This role involves requirement gathering, design documentation, data analysis, and developing robust ETL processes to support the Medicaid T MSIS program. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in SQL, PL/SQL or IBM DataStage, ETL development, shell scripting, and database performance optimization.This role is strictly involved in the development of the product and does not involve access to Protected Health Information (PHI) & Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or any secured/confidential client data. The work is limited to application development and does not include handling or processing of sensitive health information.
Your role in our mission
Data Engineering & ETL Development
• Develop, enhance, and maintain ETL processes using PL/SQL or IBM DataStage.
• Build complex workflows, mappings, and automation scripts to meet T MSIS reporting requirements.
• Write efficient shell scripts to support ETL orchestration and automation.
• Perform data transformation, integration, and validation across large healthcare datasets.
Analysis & Design
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
• Prepare detailed technical design documents based on functional requirements.
• Perform in-depth data analysis to troubleshoot data quality, inconsistencies, and performance issues.
Database Management
• Manage and optimize large SQL databases containing healthcare information.
• Apply advanced database administration techniques and query performance tuning.
• Ensure scalability, efficiency, and reliability of database and ETL components.
What we're looking for
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development, PL/SQL, or IBM DataStage.
• Strong understanding of advanced SQL, relational database concepts, and query optimization.
• Proficiency in writing Linux/Unix shell scripts.
• Experience with ETL design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Solid analytical skills with an ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving abilities and capability to multitask effectively• Experience working with large-scale healthcare data integration projects.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.
• Exposure to agile development methodologies.
