The Role

We are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst with strong experience in retail banking and lending domains to work on client-facing banking transformation and digital initiatives. This role involves working with global banking clients to gather requirements, define functional solutions, and support delivery across digital banking, core banking, and lending platforms. The candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams in an Agile delivery environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with client stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.

• Convert business requirements into detailed functional specifications including BRD, FRS, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Define end-to-end functional workflows, process maps, and business rules.

• Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and aligned with client expectations.

• Work on retail banking products such as current accounts, savings accounts, deposits, cards, and digital banking channels.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and architecture teams to ensure accurate solution implementation

• Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and defect triaging.

• Participate in issue analysis, impact assessment, and resolution tracking.

• Validate solutions against business requirements and regulatory expectations.

• Act as a liaison between client business users, product owners, operations teams, and internal IT teams.

• Facilitate requirement workshops, clarification sessions, and solution walkthroughs.

• Support coordination across distributed teams and multiple stakeholders.

• Contribute to digital transformation programs, core banking upgrades, and regulatory change initiatives.

• Coordinate across lending domain processes including loan origination, credit assessment, underwriting, approval, disbursement, servicing, repayment, and closure.

• Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews.

• Assist in continuous improvement of business processes and customer journeys.

• Strong understanding of retail banking and lending domain processes.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• 5–9+ years of experience as Functional Analyst / Business Analyst in IT services or banking transformation projects.

• Strong experience in retail banking or financial services domain.

• Exposure to large-scale client delivery programs.

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work in multi-vendor, global delivery environments.

• Familiarity with :PSD2 / PSD3,Consumer Credit Directive (CCD),Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD)

• Knowledge of KYC, AML, sanctions screening, and GDPR compliance requirements.

• Strong experience in translating business requirements into functional documentation.

• Experience working in Agile (Scrum) and/or Waterfall delivery models in IT service environments.

• Ability to create process flows, data flows, and customer journey diagrams (Visio or similar tools).

• Understanding of APIs, integration layers, and digital banking platforms.

• Exposure to reporting and analytics tools such as: Microsoft Power BI, MicroStrategy, Dataiku

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Banking / BFSi preferred

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science / IT / Engineering
