Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Job Description 

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer with 6–8 years of experience to independently design, develop, and maintain UI, API, and end-to-end automation frameworks for enterprise applications. 

The candidate should be adaptable to various automation tools and programming languages and should be capable of owning automation deliverables end-to-end with minimal supervision. 

The role involves creating reusable automation components, debugging automation issues, maintaining regression suites, supporting manual testing whenever required, and collaborating with cross-functional teams using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps. 

The candidate should have strong experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and modern automation practices. The role also requires the ability to leverage AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, Claude AI, and GitHub Copilot to improve coding efficiency, automation productivity, debugging, refactoring, and documentation. 

The candidate must be flexible, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable visiting client sites across Bangalore when required. 

  Responsibilities 

• Independently design, develop, and maintain UI, API, and end-to-end automation frameworks for enterprise applications. 

• Develop and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation components. 

• Create and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. 

• Debug automation issues, analyze failures, and provide effective solutions. 

• Maintain and enhance regression test suites to ensure application quality. 

• Support manual testing activities whenever required. 

• Collaborate with developers, QA team members, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and testing needs. 

• Work with defect tracking and project management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps. 

• Work with version control systems such as Git or equivalent. 

• Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar. 

• Utilize AI-powered tools such as Cursor, Claude AI, and GitHub Copilot for code completion, code generation, refactoring suggestions, debugging, and documentation. 

• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI/LLM capabilities into development and automation workflows where relevant. 

• Leverage AI tools to improve automation productivity, accelerate test script development, and enhance code quality. 

• Learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, automation frameworks, and AI-assisted development practices. 

• Take full ownership of automation deliverables with minimal supervision. 

• Visit client locations across Bangalore as required. 

Key Skills 

• 6–8 years of experience in automation testing across UI, API, and end-to-end testing. 

• Strong experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar. 

• Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or equivalent programming languages. 

• Hands-on experience in designing and developing automation frameworks. 

• Experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude AI, Cursor, or similar tools for code completion, code generation, refactoring, debugging, documentation, and productivity improvement. 

• Understanding of how to use AI/LLM tools responsibly for development, test automation, debugging, and documentation support. 

• Ability to adopt AI-powered development practices to improve testing, automation framework development, and overall delivery efficiency. 

• Familiarity with defect tracking and DevOps tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps / ADO. 

• Strong version control experience with Git or equivalent. 

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar. 

• Ability to independently analyze requirements and create automation test strategies. 

• Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve automation failures. 

• Good understanding of regression testing, smoke testing, functional testing, and integration testing. 

• Ability to support manual testing tasks as needed. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

• Strong learning agility and flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and project needs. 

• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of automation deliverables. 

Preferred Skills 

• Experience working in enterprise application testing environments. 

• Exposure to API testing tools and frameworks. 

• Experience with test reporting and automation dashboards. 

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology. 

• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows. 

• Practical experience in using AI-assisted development tools to improve automation code quality and team productivity.

The candidate should also be comfortable using modern AI-powered tools to improve efficiency in coding, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and test automation development.
