OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Supports IT operations and manage project platforms in LAB environment

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creation-support for auto deployment process for preconfigured OS IMAGES for Specific Hardware
• Knowledge on Different OS like Linux with OPC DA and UA
• Competency of Platform/ VApp/VM migration from Physical/virtual to Public/Private Cloud
• Set up HW Platform, Virtualization, Clustering VMs and migration of VM from Physical/virtual to Public/Private Cloud and OS license management
• Support to Specification team for Hardware specification and selection of hardware catalogue like High End servers, workstations, Monitors, Computer accessories and Routers / switches
• Support end user(s) for installation of product specific software in virtual platform or physical platforms
•  Support creation Network plan for ATS systems which includes Switch and Routing configuration.
• Support to Site installation team for Network configuration and troubleshooting activities, during commissioning / commercial service.
• Ensure seamless coordination with end users, design authority and vendors to deliver on-time
• Support on obsolescence management for Active /Passive devices

• Applies and ensures application of processes and standards
• Keeps informed of the evolution of technologies through techno watch
• Contributes to continuous improvement (ROE, process, tools, automation …)
• Ensure 24x7 systems availability
  
  Qualifications & Skills:
  
  EDUCATION

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science / Electrical  / Electronics / Communications / Instrumentation Engineering
• ITIL certification is preferred
• CCNA/CCNP certification is preferred

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE 

• Demonstrated knowledge/administration/customization of Windows OS for building OEM images.
• Demonstrated knowledge & experience in OS administration(Windows/Linux), security/performance and Virtualization(VMWare, HyperV..)
• Strong in Network administration, defining IP Addressing plans, firewall, Switch/Router configuration
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in any OS deployment tool with scripting for automatic setup of computers (OS, drivers, network/display,).
• Knowledge of HW and BIOS, understanding of computer performance (CPU/memory ..)

 

EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET

• 5 + years’ experience as an Administrator in a multi OS (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V) flavored medium or large sized network of servers, workstations, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to administer a 500+ node network.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously. 
• Develop and maintain standard support procedures and other documentation as required to ensure the support, availability and continuity of IT services to agreed SLA's and KPI's
• Experience with network/system management/monitoring tools, Asset tracking, License management
• Self-motivated with good teamwork skills
• Ability to work late evening or weekends in response to the needs of the systems being supported.
• Inherent problem-solver with desire to learn and take on responsibilities
• Knowledge and hands-on exp. in some tool with scripting for automatic setup of computers ( OS, drivers, network/display, DCOM).
• Knowledge of HW and BIOS, understanding of computer performance ( CPU/memory ..)
