Job Title: Business Analyst – Retail / Convenience Store Operations

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Retail domain expertise, particularly in Convenience Store operations, to support business transformation and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will bridge business stakeholders and technical teams, analyze retail workflows, and help implement scalable solutions across store operations, merchandising, supply chain, and finance integrations.

�� Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from retail stakeholders
• Work closely with store operations teams to understand end-to-end convenience store workflows
• Translating business needs into functional specifications and user stories
• Support solution design for retail systems including:
• POS integrations
• Inventory & replenishment
• Vendor management
• Pricing & promotions
• Invoice processing & approvals
• Participate in UAT planning, execution, and validation
• Identify process improvement opportunities across retail operations
• Collaborate with technical teams implementing automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate, RPA, ERP integrations)
• Create BRDs, FRDs, process maps, and workflow diagrams
• Support rollout activities across multiple store locations

�� Required Domain Experience

Candidate must have hands-on exposure to:

• Convenience store operations
• Retail merchandising lifecycle
• Store inventory management & replenishment
• Vendor / DSD / CDC supplier workflows
• Pricing, promotions, markdowns
• GRN and invoice validation processes
• Retail audit & compliance workflows
• Multi-store operational environments

Preferred exposure:

• Weighted average costing
• Fill-rate tracking
• Seasonal / prebook items
• Retail shrinkage control

�� Required Skills

• Strong retail domain knowledge (mandatory)
• Experience documenting BRD / FRD / User Stories
• Process mapping (Visio, BPMN, Lucidchart, etc.)
• Stakeholder management across business & IT
• Experience working in Agile / hybrid delivery models
• Data analysis using Excel / SQL (preferred)
• Exposure to automation platforms (Power Automate, UiPath, etc.) is a plus

�� Experience Required

• 5+ years as Business Analyst
• 3+ years in Retail domain
• At least 2+ years supporting Convenience Store environments

�� Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Retail Management, or related field
• CBAP / PMI-PBA certification (preferred but optional)

 

Specialization Description

IT Business Systems Analysis work involves acting as a liaison between the business/end users and IT systems development teams for business needs requiring IT based solutions including:

• Identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives
• Making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology
• Researching business requirements and documenting the relationships between the components of the application system (i.e., end users, business processes, data, applications, and devices)
• Translating business requirements into application requirementsSpecialization Match Note: This role is a blend of Business Analysis and Systems Analysis.
