Boeing Defense and Space Analytics team is looking for a Lead Data Architect to architect, develop and maintain data products for the next generation at scale. In this position the candidate is expected to be a hands-on architect with strong expertise in data architecture, data system design, analytics and data governance.  The candidate should have expertise in tools/technologies like Palantir Foundry and AWS Lakehouse. Strong fundamentals are needed in Apache Spark, Distributed Systems, Data Modelling Techniques, Dimensional Modelling (Star & Snowflake design), Data vault design patterns, SQL, Python, & Lakehouse Medallion architecture.

In this role, you will be a thought leader in how to design, implement, manage, and scale data platform applications in support of the BDS Data Analytics Platform leveraging modern cloud architecture design, hybrid cloud technologies, data migration technologies, and others.

This role requires a resourceful, self-driven, outcome-oriented individual with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to partner, execute, and communicate skillfully, while solving complex problems in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with large scale data platforms, cloud computing, hybrid clouds, software development, and requirements management. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. And experience working in cross-functional teams and leading technical projects is required.

This position will be in the Bangalore, India. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Estimate user stories/features (story point estimation) and tasks in hours with the required level of accuracy and commit them as part of Sprint Planning
• Raise any impediments/risks they come across and approaches Scrum Master accordingly to arrive at a solution.
• Performs comparative analysis, cost-benefit analysis and trade studies to evaluate and recommend design best practices.
• Influences program decision makers to use appropriate computational tools and processes.
• Transforms raw data into actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making and driving business growth, Develops and maintains ontologies within Palantir Foundry’s ontology layer
• Model ontologies and canonical data types; define relationships and package structures for consumption by analytical applications
• Ensure application observability: logging, metrics, tracing, and structured error handling
• Participate in sprint activities, perform code reviews, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application artifacts
• Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture strategy. Design data models, data flows, and integration patterns
• Establish standards for data storage, governance, quality, and security
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, analysts, and leadership
• Ensure data solutions support analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and operational needs
• Lead architecture reviews and approve data design decisions
• Optimize data pipelines, warehouses, lakes, and metadata management
• Support compliance with privacy, regulatory, and security requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Strong experience in data architecture, data modeling, and lakehouse design
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS
• Experience with modern analytical design like Ontologies framework using Palantir Foundry
• Familiar with Palantir Workshop, Foundry, Quiver & Contour toolsets
• Understanding of data governance, master data management, and metadata management
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with modern data tools and frameworks
• Experience with relational, NoSQL, and distributed data systems
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions

 Preferred Qualifications: (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong distributed system, cloud architecture, cloud warehouse (Redshift or Bigquery) concepts
• Solid experience in Performance tuning in large scale cloud data implementations
• Should have demonstrated ability to work in AGILE environment.
• Familiar with data regulations like ITAR, GDPR, data tagging and anonymization

Typical Education & Experience:

• Typically, 17-20 years related work experience or Relevant military experience. advanced degree (eg. Bachelor,Master, etc), preferred, but not required.
