Position Summary

At SG we build world class games for our world-wide lottery customers for their e-instant lottery games portfolio. Along with our immersive art and choreography, the game math takes the game experience to the next level. A mathematician role is crucial to wire complex mechanics together to create a winning experience for both players and lottery operators. The ideal candidate will: have a proven track record in online math designs, be able to quantify game play characteristics by analysing game play frequency, volatility and other related parameters and provide recommendations for game design decisions moving forward. This person will work collaboratively with teams across the organization.

Responsibilities
• Understand the regulatory requirements of game math for each market the SG e-instant business is working on.

• Work with Game Designers to create math model for given configuration and mechanics; adjusts feedback based on customer or account team feedback.

• Provide feedback to Game Designers on any game implications illustrated by the math model.

• Create prototype and run simulations for statistical methods such as Monte Carlo analysis.

• Write simulation code and make sure the math is complaint with the regulatory guidelines and generate reports for third party testing such as GLI/BMM.

• Prepare write-up for game description for the new/update game mechanics including game rules, features, options, play actions, probabilities, and prize structures for formal submission.

• Analyse sales and playership results of the games to define game performance, including identifying how various segments of players are responding to games and suggest improvements to the math models to maximize player satisfaction.

• Participate in peer review, feedback process, and report the finds as per SG Process guidelines.

• Train, Assess the junior mathematicians.

• Resolve math queries from GLI/BMM/Lottery regulators.

• Prepare white paper when needed for new mechanics.

• Estimating future sales projections for new and existing games.

• Identifies trends, opportunities, and ongoingly monitors the competitive assess the competitive environment to aide in the development of Scientific Games eInstant iLottery product portfolio and identify key areas of improvement.

Desired Skills

• 2-4 years of experience as Game mathematician. Preferably Lottery, Casino gaming background.

• Good in combinatorial analysis and able to express the odds to win, max Win, RTP for games, bonus games, games, individual wins via math model.

• Advanced in Excel functionalities to calculate/update the game math.

• Good in Programming and debugging (anyone of C++, C#, Java).

• Ability to create math models with Free games, Re-Triggers bonuses, nested bonuses.

• Ability to create math models with scatters, stacked wilds, tumblers, locking wilds.

• Working knowledge of progressive jackpots. • Must be willing and able to travel internationally.

Good to have additional skills.

• Game Prototyping.

• Scripting for automation and report generation (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
