The job family spans across multiple engineering disciplines. Work consists of designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting and debugging systems, software and solutions for research and/or research development of product, services, and solutions for HPE’s portfolio. Requires a broad knowledge and application of engineering disciplines, methodologies and tools. 

Job Family Definition for Executive Levels only: Directs and manages a diverse team of engineering professionals performing research, development, design and/or implementation of products, services, solutions for the company’s portfolio. Responsible for creating and communicating technical strategy within the organization and/or across the function.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying intermediate level of subject matter expertise to solve common technical problems. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and recommendations for appropriate action. Works independently within an established framework and with moderate supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Solution Support & Integration

  • Provide advanced technical support for Ubuntu, Morpheus, and VME solutions.

  • Drive integration of VME into multiple HPE platforms and offerings.

  • Collaborate with product teams to validate and optimize solution interoperability.

  Customer Engagement

  • Assist in resolving escalated customer issues with deep technical analysis.

  • Deliver guidance and best practices for deployment and configuration.

  Innovation & Development

  • Contribute to feature enhancements and roadmap discussions for supported solutions.

  • Participate in proof-of-concept (POC) activities and solution validation.

  Operational Excellence

  • Maintain documentation for troubleshooting, deployment, and integration processes.

  • Support automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

  Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, product management, and support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and successful project delivery.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

• Typically 2-4 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• • Technical Expertise

    • Strong proficiency in Linux administration, particularly Ubuntu.

    • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies and orchestration platforms.

    • Familiarity with Morpheus cloud management platform and integration workflows.

    • Knowledge of Virtual Machine Essentials (VME) architecture and deployment.

  • Automation & Scripting

    • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation.

    • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure

    • Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

    • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and storage concepts.

  • Soft Skills

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional team environment.

    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

    • 5+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering and solution integration
