Network Management Senior Analytics Consultant

About Northern Trust:

Northern Trust, a Fortune 500 company, is a globally recognized, award-winning financial institution that has been in continuous operation since 1889.

Northern Trust is proud to provide innovative financial services and guidance to the world’s most successful individuals, families, and institutions by remaining true to our enduring principles of service, expertise, and integrity. With more than 130 years of financial experience and over 22,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.

Major Duties

The Network Management Senior Analytics Consultant plays a pivotal role in the effective oversight and execution of the Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) review process for primary sub-custodians, resiliency sub-custodians, and Nostro/Banking providers within Northern Trust’s global network.

This position is integral to supporting the firm’s asset servicing business by ensuring operational excellence, robust risk management, and data-driven decision-making.

The consultant will leverage in-depth analytics to perform detailed provider service comparisons, identify operational risks, and drive continuous improvement across network partners. Good communication is important to foster productive engagements with external providers and internal stakeholders.

As part of the Network Management Analytics team, the consultant will be expected to be able to determine expected level of service capabilities through proactive data analysis and following industry and internal best practice guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute the DDQ review process for all sub-custodian and banking provider relationships, ensuring rigorous assessment and documentation of operational, risk, and service parameters.

  • Utilize strong analytics skills to compare and benchmark provider service levels, operational responses, and specific DDQ criteria under established periodic review cycles.

  • Collaborate with the Network Management team to coordinate Due Diligence Risk Assessment (DDRA) activities, supplying comprehensive data analysis and actionable insights to meet regulatory and business requirements.

  • Serve as a key resource for Northern Trust business units, addressing queries and providing expert guidance on DDQ review findings and implications for asset servicing operations.

  • Champion the adoption of analytics-driven methodologies and tools to enhance decision-making, risk identification, and operational efficiency within the Network Management function.

  • Where required, manage and support market provider RFPs and related initiatives to expand and strengthen Northern Trust’s resiliency network coverage, applying analytical rigor to provider selection and performance evaluation.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated custody operational background and hands-on experience in asset servicing, global custody, or securities services.

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new and complex processes.

  • Exceptional analytics skills with a proven ability to review data and identify areas of risk.

  • Solid understanding and practical experience in risk management practices relevant to network management and financial operations.

  • Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to effectively engage external providers and internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of delivering clear, concise, and impactful messages to diverse audiences.

  • Proactive ownership mindset, with demonstrated organizational, time management, and project coordination abilities.

  • Self-motivated, collaborative team player with a flexible, adaptive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

  • Track record of applying analytical thinking to drive operational excellence and support business objectives.

  • 10 years related industry experience
