As a Software Engineering - Developer at Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions. Your work will play a critical role in our business offering, your code will deliver value to our customers faster than ever before, and your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be critical in ensuring the success of our products.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage middleware platforms including Kafka, IBM MQ, ESB, and WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
• Deploy and manage applications on OpenShift (Kubernetes-based platform)
• Design and maintain messaging and integration solutions for distributed systems
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability of middleware components
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to messaging, integration, and application hosting
• Support application deployments and release management activities
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of middleware systems
• Implement security, access control, and compliance policies
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams
• Automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency

Using design documentation and functional programming specifications, you will be responsible for implementing identified components. You will ensure that implemented components are appropriately documented, unit-tested, and ready for integration into the final product. You will have the opportunity to architect the solution, test the code, and deploy and build a CI/CD pipeline for it.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• Strong experience with Apache Kafka (topics, brokers, partitions, consumer groups)

• 5 - 7 Years as Platform Engineer

• Hands-on experience with IBM MQ and messaging systems

• Experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) administration

• Knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) concepts and tools

• Experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes container platforms

• Good understanding of Linux/Unix systems

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Experience with Kafka Streams / Kafka Connect

• Knowledge of API gateways and microservices architecture

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)

• Scripting skills (Shell, Python)

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Understanding of DevOps and automation practices

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Banking / BFSi preferred

• IBM MQ / WAS Certification - Preferred

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science / IT / Engineering
