Overview

Microsoft Research India (MSR India) is inviting applications for Postdoctoral Researcher positions. The postdoc program at MSR India provides postdoctoral researchers an opportunity to work on impactful research problems while collaborating closely with Microsoft researchers and product groups. Postdoctoral researchers spend 1 to 2 years at MSR India and receive ongoing guidance and mentoring from experienced researchers. 
Our broad areas of interest are CS/AI Foundations and Security, AI and Machine Learning, Systems & AI Infrastructure, and Technology and Empowerment, especially for the Global South. Projects in the lab are interdisciplinary and span across these research areas. Examples of specific focus include retrieval, reasoning, inference efficiency, multimodality, societal applications, and more.

Responsibilities

As a postdoc researcher, you will collaborate with Microsoft researchers and other teams to:  Advance the state-of-the-art and publish research openly in prestigious venues.  Influence Microsoft products and catalyze the design of new products used by billions of users.  Drive research end-to-end towards meaningful impact. 

Qualifications

Required qualifications:  

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI or related disciplines  

Additional qualifications:  

• A well-established research agenda as evidenced by high-quality research output/publications.
