Job Family Definition:
Designs, analyses, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for Routers (access, edge and core) and Ethernet Switches. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Hardware Engineering Team under Networking BU is working on the most leading edge technologies for Routers and Ethernet Switches used in Hyperscale Data Centres for AI, Service Providers, Enterprise Networks. Team is responsible for end-to-end design and development of solutions.
Contributions have visible technical impact on a product or major subcomponent. Applies in-depth professional knowledge and innovative ideas to solve complex problems. Visible contributions improve time-to-market, achieve cost reductions, or satisfy current and future unmet customer needs. Recognized internal authority on key technology area applying innovative principles and ideas. Provides technical leadership for significant project/program work. Leads or participates in cross-functional initiatives and contributes to mentorship and knowledge sharing across the organization.
What you'll do:
Owning End-to-End responsibility of designing and delivering the product
Working closely with PLM Team, understanding the Market Requirements and coming-up with architecture details
Defining architecture, product description details, authoring hardware functional specifications
Complete Hardware Design Flow – Schematic Entry, selecting components, working with various teams – eCAD, PCB Layout, SI, Power, Mechanical, Thermal, FPGA
Specifying PCB Stack, working with PCB vendors, supply chain and manufacturing teams
Working with CM and/or ODM and taking the product through complete lifecycle – proto to production
Hardware Bring-up, testing, supporting various test teams – EDVT, MDVT, EMC, HALT, SI, IEEE
Working closely with Diagnostic Software Team for design validation and manufacturing testing.
Working with Software, Software Test Teams, debugging complex system issues.
Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for electrical hardware design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; integrates suggestions, updates, and innovations into overall architecture and leads platform architecture process across business.
Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development innovation and excellence.
What you need to bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Typically 12+ years experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Using electrical design tools and software packages.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience in designing hardware using high speed serial interface with speed of 50G, 100G with NRZ, PAM4
Experience with x86 CPU architecture
Experience designing high layer count boards(18+) including 50G+ signals, and advanced PCB manufacturing technologies
Experience working with multi-phase DC/DC’s for high current, high transient loads
Experience working with high speed interfaces, such as DDR4, DDR5, LPDDR, PCIe Gen3, PCIe Gen4, NVMe SSD
Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture.
Evaluating, proposing, and selecting forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management to be used across the organization.
History of innovation with multiple patents in the field of electronics packaging.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
