The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Procurement Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a critical procurement operations organization supporting global and regional business needs. In this role, you will drive operational excellence, strengthen stakeholder partnerships, and help build a high-performing procurement organization aligned with 3M’s broader procurement strategy.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead Procurement operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality delivery across regions.
  • Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including transactional buying, purchase order management, issue resolution, and data accuracy.
  • Drive process improvement, standardization, and technology optimization to enhance efficiency, quality, and reporting.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team through recruitment, coaching, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Category teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, support business needs, and ensure effective delivery.
  • Monitor KPIs and maintain compliance with company policies, legal requirements, internal controls, and industry standards.
  • Contribute to Global Procurement leadership through governance participation, site initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Accountable for Leadership and Team Management, Operational Excellence, Stakeholder and Category Partnership, Technology and Data Enablement, Compliance, Risk, and Governance & Centralized Operations Leadership.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, supply chain management, procurement, operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or centralized operations / global business operations environments
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, including team management, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Experience managing procurement operations, transactional buying, source-to-pay processes, or centralized procurement operations activities.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Procurement & operations expertise in centralized operations environment / global business operations environments, including sourcing, supplier management, and PO lifecycle, supported by ERP (SAP) and tools like Ariba/Coupa
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams and influence cross-functional, multicultural stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience in process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), reporting tools (Excel, Power BI), and driving performance, quality, and accountability.
