SAP MM Consultant (with Production Planning Integration)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM (Materials Management) Consultant with strong knowledge of integration with Production Planning (PP) to join our team. The candidate should have a proven track record in implementing, configuring, and supporting SAP MM module while understanding its critical integration points with PP. This role involves working closely with clients to optimize their supply chain processes, inventory management, plant maintenance and production planning integration within the SAP Material Management module.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse client business requirements and design SAP MM solutions with consideration for PP integration
• Configure and customize SAP MM module to meet client-specific needs, ensuring smooth integration with PP
• Implement and optimize processes for procure to payment, inventory management, material requirements planning (MRP), and warehouse management
• Design and configure integration points between MM and PP modules, focusing on areas such as material reservations, goods movements, and production order management
• Provide expertise in areas such as purchasing, inventory valuation, physical inventory, and material master data management and data migration
• Develop functional specifications for ABAP development team, particularly for custom reports and interfaces between MM and other SAP modules
• Conduct system testing, including integration and user acceptance testing, with emphasis on MM-PP integration scenarios
• Provide training and support to end-users on SAP MM functionalities and its interaction with PP
• Troubleshoot issues related to MM processes and MM-PP integration, providing timely resolutions
• Experienced in full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to go-live and post-implementation support
• Ability to provide best practices and custom solution in materials management and production planning
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as an SAP MM Consultant
• Strong knowledge of SAP MM business processes and their integration with PP and other SAP modules
• Experience in multiple full-cycle SAP implementations
• Proficiency in SAP MM configuration, customization, and testing
• Solid understanding of production planning processes and how they interact with materials management
• Familiarity with SAP ABAP programming concepts is value add
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and coordinating onsite offshore teams
• SAP certification in MM module is plus.

Additional Skills:

- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA is a plus

- Experience with SAP Fiori applications related to MM and PP

- Familiarity with SAP and agile methodologies

- Experience in industries such as manufacturing, automotive and service management is beneficial

- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and how they apply to SAP MM and PP

- Knowledge of extended warehouse management (EWM) is a plus
