We are currently seeking a Software Development Specialist to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Responsibilities:

As an Azure Cloud Data Engineer in the Service Delivery Tier 1 Support team, you will be responsible for monitoring and responding to the issues or failures in the Cloud Data Engineering processes for data processing and loading. 

Data loading and processing occur as either:

• Batch processing:  Getting data from on prem databases such as Oracle, Postgres
• API:  For sending and receiving data in real time to various Apps used by business users
• Streaming:  Getting data from on prem database change log records in to cloud database such as Cosmos, Azure SQL via Event hubs

These data processes are critical to retain data freshness and continuity across a large Microsoft Azure EDL.  The Microsoft Azure data sources are critical for business reporting, critical business decisions and revenue generating operational processes.

Qualifications:

Having foundational skills and experience in a data warehouse star schema with ETL concepts.  Previous SQL knowledge and experience with a large EDL environment.

4-6 years’ experience in a cloud data engineering support or development team to bring your expertise for proactive monitoring and responsiveness to analyze and take corrective actions for issues, incidents and problems.  Follow service level guidelines and escalation procedures to achieve resolutions as promptly as possible.

 

Required: 

• Must have 4-6 years experience in Cloud Data Engineering Support roles preferably in Microsoft Azure.
• Must have experience in an Azure Cloud environment as a Tier 1 support Data Engineer handling broke/fix recovery.
• Must have Cloud Data Engineering Support experience working with large datasets and complex data environments, processes, and associated solutions.
• Incident and Problem Management using ServiceNow meeting SLA expectations.
• Knowledge and experience with a data warehouse star schema and ETL concepts
• SQL Basic skills and experience
• Knowledge of Streaming Support with Event Hub, Databricks Cluster, Cosmos DB, Scala, Azure SQL DB and Azure App Insights.
• Knowledge of API’s along with Azure Functions, Scala, Python, Azure SQL DB and Azure App Insights.
• Knowledge of batch data processing support using Databricks Notebooks, Python, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure App Insights, IWS Job Scheduling
• Knowledge of automated and scheduled batch job tools such as Databricks Workflows, IBM IWS and Control-M.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various IT teams and business representatives. 
• Must be able to both collaborate in a team-oriented environment and work independently with direction.

 

Desired (Not Required):

• Knowledge of Data Product Hygiene and be able to champion this in your work.
• Support Security and Audit Compliance initiatives related to the Microsoft Azure environment
• Experience with Big Data solutions and no SQL DBMSs
• Basic knowledge/understanding of a Reverse Proxy ( Kong/nginx/ApacheHttpd ), basic HTTP Response codes, understanding of Rest req/resp models.
• Basic understanding of how function apps work.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
