We are currently seeking a Software Development Specialist to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Job Title: Database Architect / Senior Database Engineer (6–9 Years Experience)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Database Architect / Senior Database Engineer with 6–9 years of expertise in designing, optimizing, and maintaining complex database systems. The ideal candidate will architect high‑performance data solutions, lead modernization initiatives, and provide technical leadership across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Database Architecture & Design

• Design and implement scalable, high‑performance database architectures for enterprise applications.
• Define data models, schemas, and end‑to‑end data flows for complex systems.
• Work with relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Architect and manage NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Apache Cassandra.

Performance Optimization

• Optimize database performance through:
• Indexing strategies
• Query tuning
• Partitioning and sharding
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in large-scale environments.

Availability, Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Implement and maintain high availability configurations (RAC, replication, clustering).
• Define and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure robust data security, including access control, encryption, auditing, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Support

• Work closely with application developers, data engineers, and DevOps teams to design optimal data solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and influence data-driven decision-making.

Migration & Modernization

• Lead database migration and modernization initiatives, including transitioning on‑premises databases to cloud platforms.
• Support cloud-native database adoption (RDS, Aurora, Cloud SQL, Cosmos DB, etc.).

Monitoring & Capacity Planning

• Monitor database health, reliability, performance, and storage capacity using native and third‑party tools.
• Conduct proactive capacity planning and scaling strategies.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior DBAs and developers on database best practices.
• Establish and enforce database standards and guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–9 years of experience in database engineering, architecture, or administration.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Expertise in performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and capacity management.
• Experience with HA/DR solutions, replication, clustering.
• Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Solid understanding of database security and compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
