Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with machine learning (ML) infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience building scalable back-end systems.
• Experience in Google infrastructure (e.g., apps framework, spanner, experimentation).
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally and cross-teams to drive business outcomes and client satisfaction.
• Experience in ML infrastructure, or an interest in large language models.
• Ability to take ownership of projects, scope problems, and recommend solutions that consider short- and long-term needs.
• Passion for building scaling platforms with both end-user and business partners in mind.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow newly established incentives for the go-to-market engineering team, and serve as the technical lead to establish a local presence and drive engineering excellence.
• Define technical direction and system design for next-gen scalable platform to support promotion ingestion for Google Play and first-party partners.
• Lead the design and scale frameworks to enable high-fidelity simulation of ranking and personalization algos, reducing reliance on live production noise.
• Define and lead unified funnel reporting with AI Insights, harmonize logging patterns across loyalty and store to provide visibility into promotional impact.
• Drive alignment with cross-functional partners (e.g., play points infrastructure, subscription infrastructure, payments, apps, games teams) on promotional mechanics. Develop and improve the personalization system for the platform to serve users personalized promotions.
