Job Description

Position Summary: 

The BA/BI Developer + Operations role is responsible for delivering Power BI reporting solutions and providing first-line operational support for enterprise analytics systems. The role ensures continuity of reporting services, timely incident resolution, and consistent data quality across dashboards and business-critical reporting environments. 

The incumbent supports business analytics needs in a fast-paced environment by monitoring production reporting systems, conducting root cause analyses of incidents, and coordinating incident resolution with semantic and platform teams, while maintaining adherence to enterprise data governance standards. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership & Planning 

• Support prioritization of reporting enhancements alongside operational stability requirements. 

• Identify recurring reporting issues and recommend process improvements. 

• Assist in automation of manual reporting workflows where applicable. 

Project Oversight & System Ownership 

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports using approved datasets. 

• Translate business requirements into visualization and reporting solutions. 

• Ensure reports align with governed KPI definitions and semantic models. 

• Document report logic and operational procedures. 

Operations & Compliance 

• Monitor report refresh schedules, dataset connectivity, and dashboard performance. 

• Conduct regular data quality checks and validation. 

• Perform root cause analysis for report failures, refresh issues, or data discrepancies. 

• Coordinate issue resolution with Cube/SPOT, architecture, or data engineering teams. 

• Maintain operational runbooks and escalation processes. 

• Ensure compliance with Global IT Policies & Procedures. 

Team Leadership 

• Promote accountability for reporting reliability and SLA adherence. 

• Share operational learnings and improvement opportunities with the team. 

Cross-functional Collaboration 

• Work closely with business stakeholders during production incidents or report changes. 

• Coordinate with platform teams during upstream data or infrastructure changes. 

• Support cross-functional communication to maintain transparency during issue resolution. 

 

Qualifications: 

Education & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required. 

• Minimum of 4+ years of BI development experience. 

• Experience supporting production reporting environments. 

 

Skills & Knowledge 

• Power BI dashboard development and maintenance. 

• Strong SQL for data validation and troubleshooting. 

• Experience monitoring report refresh cycles and resolving connectivity issues. 

• Data reconciliation and root cause analysis capabilities. 

• Understanding of enterprise data platforms (Redshift, Databricks, Athena). 

• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. 

• Experience working in Agile environments. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working in SLA-driven analytics environments. 

• Familiarity with structured change management processes. 

• Exposure to enterprise data governance practices.
