Sr. Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Job incumbent coordinates and manages design and development task assigned to project or Workflows. He/ She provides technical expertise to ensure that the projects meet the customer specific requirements and M+H standards. Responsible for product development process as defined in the xSEP and Workflow process

Main Tasks

• Lead and manage the customer negotiations regarding the specification of the products to be designed and define the functional specifications based on the customer requirements, participate in the presentations for the developed products to the customer.
• Manage the development of the design concepts for Fuel, Oil filters. (3d models, tolerance calculations, etc.).
• Strong design experience in sheet metal part design, deep drawing parts.
• Manage to prepare and release test report for the filters.
• Support in preparation of Management report wrt the product release.
• Manage and perform the Functional reviews at certain stage during the project phase (FMEA, Design concept release, CAD concept etc.) in cooperation with the LPE/ Manager design and development).
• Coordinate with cross functional teams to evaluate product designs and specifications to determine feasibility while minimizing costs to develop and manufacture.
• Support the product Expect in obtaining the patents and in protecting the patents for the new/ existing products.
• Participation in the development of test plan, development and implementation of test equipment tools and methods in accordance with the Internal & customer specification.
• Plan, manage and control the engineering budget in the project, initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations.

Experience

Qualification

• University degree or equivalent education in the field of Engineering.

 Experience:

• 5-7 years of relevant work experience in Automotive domain / Oil Centrifuge filtration products.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Catia & CREO design tool experience.
• work experience in product design of high RPM rotating parts, production process & validation know-how, preferably Oil Centrifuge application
• Knowledge in FMEA, Problem solving technique, Field failure analysis.
• Proficient use of IT-tools (MS Office, SAP, CAD, CIM DATABASE…)
• Fluency in Technical English (write and speak),

• Know-how in precision part design, manufacturing & assembly process
• Sheet metal parts design & manufacturing process
