Technology Support II - UNIX / Shell Scripting & Market Data Distributed Support Specialist

As a Technology Support II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support market data systems to ensure optimal availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to market data feeds, applications, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address and resolve data discrepancies and outages.
• Maintain and update market data configurations, entitlements, and permissions.
• Assist in onboarding new data sources and integrating market data into various platforms.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users on market data tools and applications.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and maintain documentation for market data processes, procedures, and support activities.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in market data technologies and services.
• Participate in projects related to market data enhancements and system upgrades.

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

 

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience in market data support or a similar role within the financial services industry.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as UNIX/Shell scripting and Python.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and market data products.
• Proficiency in market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar.
• Experience with market data technologies (e.g., RMDS/TREP, DACS entitlements, Bloomberg BPIPE, Solace).
• Experience with Linux (RedHat) system administration and knowledge of storage filesystems.
• Experience using monitoring and forensic tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Kibana, Galvanometer).
• Understanding of network technologies, including IP (TCP/UDP/MCAST), switch, and routing topologies.
• Familiarity with data feed technologies and protocols (e.g., FIX, API), and market data feeds/content (direct exchange and aggregated).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS.

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Exposure to cloud technologies
