Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

Our journey started in 2002 with approximately 200 people. Today we stand at 80,000+ professionals in ten locations around the world. We operate in Argentina, China, Hungary, India, Philippines, Poland, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Client service is focused on providing Consulting, Assurance, Tax, Strategy & Transactions, and Knowledge support to our clients around the world. The teams enable account teams worldwide to provide seamless, high-quality, value-added support, helping deliver exceptional client service.

Enablement Services provides cost-effective, high-skilled, and innovative services to support EY’s global and local enablement teams. Markets, BMC, AWS, Finance and Accounting, Risk Management, Procurement, People Shared Services, IT Service Delivery and IT Global Infrastructure services, are among the services offered by Enablement Services.

Our innovation specialists serve the GDS Client Service and Enablement Services teams, along with Service Lines, Core Business Services and Sectors. The team brings the desired environment, technologies and skilled teams together for facilitation, rapid prototyping and innovative thinking. The competencies offered include analytics, digital, user experience, mobile technology, infrastructure, Microsoft technologies and open innovation.

 

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Backend Developer with strong expertise in integration, data processing, and building highly available, resilient systems. The role focuses on designing robust backend services, handling complex integrations (SAP and external vendors), and ensuring reliable system performance on a scale.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development & Problem Solving
• Design and develop scalable backend services using C# .NET
• Implement API development best practices, including versioning and lifecycle management
• Build reusable components using middleware, filters, and exception handling frameworks
• Solve complex backend problems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability

 

• Integration Engineering
• Design and implement integration solutions with enterprise systems, including:
• SAP systems (user profile data ingestion and synchronization)
• Logistics / Transport vendor APIs (REST/SOAP integrations)
• Handle authentication mechanisms, API security, and rate limiting strategies
• Build robust data transformation and mapping layers across systems
• Ensure fault tolerance and retry mechanisms in integration flows

 

• Messaging & Event-Driven Systems
• Implement asynchronous communication using Azure Service Bus
• Design messaging patterns such as:
• Queues for decoupled processing
• Topics and subscriptions for pub-sub models
• Ensure high reliability and message durability

 

• Data & Storage
• Design and optimize Azure SQL databases:
• Schema design for relational data
• Query optimization and indexing strategies
• Work with Cosmos DB:
• Define partitioning strategies
• Manage throughput and performance tuning
• Ensure efficient handling of large-scale data processing

 

• Platform & Operations
• Containerize backend services using Docker
• Deploy and manage applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Configure and manage NGINX for:
• Reverse proxy
• API routing and load balancing
• Monitor application health using Azure Application Insights:
• Logging and tracing
• Performance telemetry and diagnostics

 

• DevOps & CI/CD
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Automate build, deployment, and release processes
• Support environment setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Ensure smooth deployment across development, staging, and production environments
• Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution.
• Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.

 

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong backend-focused development experience with C# .NET
• Deep understanding of integration architecture and data transformation
• Experience with SAP integration and external API ecosystems (REST/SOAP)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Service Bus and messaging architecture
• Solid knowledge of Azure SQL and Cosmos DB
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and NGINX
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Azure Application Insights
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Experience with high-availability and resilient system design patterns
• Knowledge of event-driven and microservices architectures
• Exposure to logistics, transport, or enterprise integration domains
