Job Description
Job SummaryThe Duty Doctor is responsible for providing continuous medical care to patients during assigned rotational shifts, including day, evening, night, weekends, and public holidays. The role involves assessing patients, initiating treatment, responding to medical emergencies, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
- QualificationsMBBS from an NMC-recognized institution.
- Valid NMC/State Medical Council registration.
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
- Key ResponsibilitiesAssess, examine, diagnose, and manage patients in OPD, IPD, and emergency areas.
- Stabilize emergency cases and initiate appropriate treatment.
- Coordinate with consultants for patient management and referrals.
- Perform routine medical procedures within the scope of practice.
- Monitor admitted patients and respond promptly to changes in clinical condition.
- Maintain accurate medical records, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and treatment notes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and mandatory training.
Working Hours
- Rotational duty roster, including 24-hour shifts, day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, as per hospital requirements.
- Weekly off and compensatory off as per hospital policy.
