About the Role

We're looking for someone in Bhopal to be our eyes, ears, and camera on the ground. You'll travel across the city to meet artists and artisans, document their craft and their stories, capture high-quality photos and videos of their work, and bring it all online to our platform in a clean, consistent, standardised way.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is equal parts technically capable, creatively curious, and genuinely interested in people and their stories. If you love art and craft, are comfortable with a camera and a laptop, and enjoy being out in the field, this is for you.

What You'll Do

• Travel across Bhopal to visit artists, artisans, and cultural practitioners at their homes, studios, and workshops.
• Photograph artworks, products, and craft processes with consistent quality, handling framing, lighting, and a standardised shooting setup so every piece looks its best.
• Scan and digitise artworks and documents where needed, maintaining clean, well-organised files.
• Record (or coordinate the recording of) video and audio, capturing the artist at work, interviews, demonstrations, and process clips.
• Draw out and tell each artist's story in a way that's authentic and engaging, both in writing and on camera.
• Upload, download, organise, and manage digital content across our platform and tools, keeping everything labelled and standardised.
• Maintain accurate documentation (product details, artist information, shoot notes, and records) using Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms).
• Watch training videos and follow internal guidelines; help train and guide artists on what we need from them where required.
• Communicate clearly and warmly with artists in the local language, building trust and long-term relationships.

What We're Looking For

• Comfort with technology: uploading, downloading, file management, and learning new tools and apps quickly.
• Photography and lighting skills, with an eye for consistency and standardisation across shoots.
• Experience or strong aptitude for video/audio recording.
• Storytelling ability: you can find the human story in someone's craft and present it well.
• Good working knowledge of Google tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) and general digital literacy.
• Fluency in the local language (Hindi and/or local dialects) and the ability to connect easily with people.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly within Bhopal and the surrounding area.
• Strong organisation, reliability, and attention to detail in documentation.
• A self-starter who can work independently in the field.

Equipment Requirement

You must have your own device capable of capturing good-quality photos and video: a modern smartphone (iOS or Android) or a camera. 

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Indian traditional art forms, crafts, or cultural heritage.
• Basic photo/video editing skills.
• Prior experience in field documentation, content creation, cataloguing, or digitisation.
• Knowledge of the Bhopal arts and crafts community.
