Job Description
- ⚙️ Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Set up welding equipment and select proper tools
- Weld metals using techniques like:
- MIG (Metal Inert Gas)
- TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)
- Arc welding
- Inspect welds for strength and quality
- Repair damaged metal structures or parts
- Maintain and clean welding equipment
- Follow safety standards and wear protective gear
🧠 Skills Required
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Knowledge of welding techniques and tools
- Ability to read measurements and blueprints
- Attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength
- Understanding of safety procedures
Education & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ITI / vocational training in welding (preferred)
- Certification (like AWS or similar) is a plus
- Apprenticeship experience is beneficial
Work Environment
- Construction sites
- Factories and workshops
- Shipyards or oil & gas industries
- May involve working outdoors and in high temperatures
Working Conditions
- Full-time, sometimes shifts or overtime
- Physically demanding
- Exposure to heat, sparks, and fumes
