Job Description – Maintenance Engineer 

Industry: Auto Component Manufacturing (Plastic & Rubber Components)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: Minimum 5 to 7 Years

Location: Chakan Phase 2, Pune

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer from the Auto Component Manufacturing industry to manage and maintain production machinery and utilities efficiently. The candidate should have strong knowledge of Power Press Machines, PLC systems, and other manufacturing equipment to ensure minimum downtime and smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the maintenance function of:
• Power Press Machines (Up to 10T)
• Oven
• Stretch Bending Machines
• Heat Bending Machines
• Extrusion Machines
• DA Tape Assembly Machines
• Moulding Machines
• Utilities and related equipment
• Ensure zero breakdowns and maximum machine availability.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules effectively.
• Monitor production downtime and improve machine efficiency.
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, and execute time-critical repairs.
• Maintain critical spare inventory and ensure availability.
• Coordinate with production/process teams for maintenance planning.
• Coordinate and follow up with external vendors and maintenance consultants.
• Execute maintenance activities within budgeted expenses.
• Create daily maintenance reports and breakdown analysis reports.
• Ensure availability and smooth functioning of all plant utilities.
• Train workers and team members on best maintenance practices to reduce breakdowns.
• Ensure zero recurrence of machine failures through corrective actions.
• Report the effectiveness of maintenance systems to top management.
• Handle non-conformity reporting and corrective action implementation.
• Participate in Management Review Meetings and present maintenance performance updates.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related technical field.
• Proven experience in maintenance engineering within manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Mechanical systems
• PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Power Press Machines
• Industrial equipment maintenance
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates from:

• Auto Component Manufacturing
• Plastic Component Manufacturing
• Rubber Component Manufacturing

will be preferred.
