Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM) – Metal Industry

Department: Sales & Business Development

Location: [NO 31, NEW NO 2, OLD, Murali St, Mahalingapuram, Nungambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600034]

Reports To: General Manager / Sales Director

Experience Required: 5–10 Years in Metal, Steel, Aluminum, Fabrication, or Industrial Products Industry

Job Summary :We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive sales growth, expand market presence, and develop strategic customer relationships within the metal industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating revenue, managing key accounts, and achieving sales targets while strengthening the company's position in the market. Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & SalesIdentify and develop new business opportunities in the metal, steel, fabrication, engineering, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Generate leads, conduct market research, and convert prospects into customers.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, and contracts.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with customers.

Customer Relationship Management :

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, contractors, fabricators, distributors, and industrial clients.
  • Manage key accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular client visits and business review meetings.
  • Resolve customer concerns and coordinate with internal teams for timely delivery.

Market Analysis & Strategy:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities and recommend growth strategies.
  • Analyze sales performance and prepare reports for management.
  • Participate in trade exhibitions, industry events, and networking activities to promote the company. (Built In)

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with production, procurement, logistics, and finance teams for smooth order execution.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, and business pipelines.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, opportunities, and market intelligence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • MBA in Marketing/Sales is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development or Sales within the Metal, Steel, Aluminum, Mining, Recycling, or Manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business growth. (LinkedIn)
