Debt Recovery Agent

The Debt Recovery Agent contacts customers with outstanding debts, negotiates repayment arrangements, monitors payment compliance, and helps reduce delinquent accounts. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact customers by phone, email, letters, or in person regarding overdue accounts.
• Explain outstanding balances, payment terms, and repayment options.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements within company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and recovery activities.
• Follow up on broken payment commitments and delinquent accounts.
• Investigate reasons for non-payment and recommend appropriate actions.
• Coordinate with legal teams or external agencies when required.
• Ensure all collection activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Prepare recovery reports and update collection databases.
• Meet recovery targets and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or bachelor's degree (preferred in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields).
• Experience in collections, customer service, banking, finance, or sales is often preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with CRM or collections software.
• Knowledge of debt recovery procedures and financial regulations is an advantage.
