Job Description

Fire Alarm Engineer (or Technician) is responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining fire detection and alarm systems to ensure buildings remain safe and compliant with legal codes. They work across commercial, residential, and industrial sites to prevent hazards and protect lives. [1, 2]



Key Responsibilities

  • Installation: Set up fire alarm panels, smoke/heat detectors, pull stations, and control wiring according to architectural blueprints.
  • Inspection & Testing: Conduct routine audits to test battery health, alarm audibility, and system connectivity.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose faults, system errors, or false alarms, and replace defective components.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all systems meet local fire safety regulations (such as NFPA standards) and maintain detailed logbooks for regulatory authorities.
  • Commissioning: Program and configure advanced addressable and conventional systems to ensure seamless integration.
