Job Description

Accounts Executive – Job Responsibilities

An Accounts Executive is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and coordination related to receivables and payables.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Bookkeeping



Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in ERP/Tally/accounting software



Handle bookkeeping activities and maintain proper financial records



Prepare journal entries, ledgers, vouchers, and reconciliations



Perform bank reconciliation and monitor cash/bank transactions



Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts, and supporting documents



GST Compliance



Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) within timelines



Reconcile purchase and sales data with GST portal records



Verify input tax credit (ITC) and ensure GST compliance



Coordinate with vendors/customers for GST-related discrepancies



Maintain GST documentation and records for audit purposes



TDS Compliance



Deduct and account for TDS as per applicable provisions



Prepare and file TDS returns quarterly



Generate and issue TDS certificates to vendors/employees



Reconcile TDS entries with books and government portal records



Ensure timely payment of TDS liabilities



Accounts Receivable (AR)



Generate customer invoices and monitor receivables



Follow up with customers for outstanding payments



Prepare aging reports and track overdue balances



Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing issues



Coordinate with sales/team for collection updates



Accounts Payable (AP)



Verify vendor invoices and process payments



Maintain payable schedules and due-date tracking



Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies



Ensure timely payment to vendors and service providers



Maintain records of purchase orders and payment approvals



MIS & Reporting



Prepare monthly MIS reports and financial summaries



Generate expense analysis, revenue reports, and cash flow statements



Support management with budgeting and forecasting data



Prepare reports for audits and management review meetings



Maintain accuracy of financial data and reporting



Audit & Compliance



Assist in internal and statutory audits



Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies



Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and banks when required



Maintain confidentiality of financial information




Skills Required



Knowledge of GST, TDS, and accounting principles



Hands-on experience in Tally/ERP/MS Excel



Good analytical and reconciliation skills



Attention to detail and accuracy



Communication and coordination abilities
