Job Description:

Kettle Room LLP is a new start up venture in Chennai. We are looking for a friendly and energetic Barista to join our café team. The Barista will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, tea, and boba beverages, maintaining cleanliness at the bar, and delivering excellent customer service. This role requires attention to detail, speed, and a passion for beverages and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation

  • Prepare espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, and iced coffees.
  • Brew and serve specialty teas and iced tea beverages.
  • Follow standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.

Customer Service

  • Take customer orders accurately and recommend menu items when needed.
  • Ensure every customer receives friendly and prompt service.

Bar & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
  • Clean espresso machines, grinders, tea brewers, and other equipment regularly.
  • Ensure all tools and workstations are sanitized according to hygiene standards.

Inventory & Prep

  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients
  • Assist with daily prep including brewing teas, making syrups etc.,

Teamwork

  • Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy hours.
  • Help maintain a positive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a café/food service role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in drink preparation.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn coffee, tea, and boba preparation techniques.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of espresso machines and coffee brewing.
  • Familiarity with milk steaming and latte art.
  • Experience making bubble tea or specialty tea drinks.
  • Interest in coffee and beverage culture.
