CAM 5-Axis Programmer

🔧 Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled CAM 5-Axis Programmer to create advanced CNC programs for multi-axis machining, especially 5-axis VMC machines. The role involves working with complex components requiring high precision and efficiency.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

• Develop 5-axis CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit)

• Interpret 3D CAD models and engineering drawings

• Plan machining strategies (tool paths, tooling, cutting parameters)

• Perform simulation and collision checks before machining

• Optimize programs for cycle time and tool life

• Set up and prove-out programs on 5-axis VMC machines

• Collaborate with operators and production teams

• Troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes

• Maintain proper documentation for programs and setups

🎯 Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Strong knowledge of 5-axis machining (simultaneous & indexed)

• Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software

• Good understanding of tooling, cutting conditions, fixtures & work holding

• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings

• Familiarity with CNC controllers (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Mitsubishi)

🎓 Qualifications:

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• 4–8+ years of CNC programming experience (5-axis preferred)
